Alison Wittenberg, APRN

Alison Wittenberg is a licensed psychiatric nurse practitioner who graduated from Yale University and The Yale School of Nursing with a BA in Psychology, a master's degree in pediatric and adolescent medicine and a post-master's degree in adult and family psychiatry.   She has over 20 years of specialized experience ranging from clinical work with The Yale Adolescent Clinic and The Fair Haven Community Health Center to 14 years at Atlantic Health Services, a private psychiatric practice in Hamden, CT.  She recently spent a year helping the County of Los Angeles start a program to address the mental health needs of individuals and families identified by their primary care providers as having histories of childhood trauma.  She now has her own private practice in Orange, CT. 

Alison has a unique approach to treatment. She believes in the importance of taking time to understand each patient's circumstances and needs and offers a comprehensive form of care that involves both therapy and, if needed, medication management. She offers compassionate, personalized care at every visit in an effort to help each individual attain the highest level of satisfaction with their lives and their health. Alison regularly participates in on-going learning to stay up-to-date on the latest treatments. She has taught nursing students, medical residents and physician colleagues, and has given lectures on ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety.
